No matter where I go- be it a restaurant, grocery store, shopping mall, doctor’s office or any other place of business- there always seems to be a monster of a child there, ruining the peaceful atmosphere because the little brat just isn't getting his/her way. Most of the kids I see today are hyped up on tons of sugar. They are disrespectful of their parents (or anybody older than them), and they generally do what they want. They seem to create havoc wherever they go, and get away with everything because their parents are either both too young and inexperienced to raise a child, or they are scared of being called a child abuser if they punish the child duly. Why are parents that are so irresponsible able to have children so easily? Dumb question, right? I’m sure we all know where babies come from. Just because you’re physically capable of having a child doesn’t necessarily mean that you should. But seriously folks, I believe bad parenting has affected today's society in a big way. A child’s insufficient upbringing and education from parents can lead to many problems that not only affect the child, but all of us. Children are our future and I believe that if bad parenting continues to grow then that will eventually be the end of our world. OK perhaps that is a little extreme. While it's true that children can trigger poor parenting behaviour, they can only bring out in you what is already there. We may not be taught how to be good parents, however we can learn and we can rise above our upbringing. Rather than feeling guilty, take action now. Acknowledge that you have some things to learn and open yourself up to new ways of teaching and responding to your kids. If you'd rather stick your child in front of a TV or computer screen, then you're missing the opportunity to get to know your child and learn how he or she sees the world. You may not realize it now, but children have as much to teach us as we have to teach them.  I also believe that even children with poor parents can still become upstanding individuals.
